We've overhauled Raisely's reporting – here's what you need to know

Raisely is where charities turn their fundraising ideas into impactful campaigns using our fully customisable fundraising platform. Like any good fundraiser knows, a successful campaign means regular access to good quality data.

When we built the first version of Raisely one of the fundamental pillars we wanted to change in the industry was data. We felt charities should be able to access it – all of it. Fundraising platforms have no place gatekeeping anything on your fundraisers or donors.

Access to data is important because it means charities are able to do analysis, communicate with donors, migrate data into CRMs, and move data between different tools. Ultimately it means optimised campaigns year-over-year, and a deeper understanding of your supporters. Value that's hard to argue with.

Raisely has had good, customisable CSV reports forever. But we have also heard for years that you'd love better ways to export all of your fundraising information from Raisely.

Requests like these have been so common in our inboxes.

A couple of months ago we decided it was time for an upgrade. We set out to design a report builder that gives you – fundraisers – the information you need, so you don't need to spend so much time manipulating, pivoting, filtering, and combining data in Excel.

We've just launched these changes, so today I'm thrilled to share with you Raisely's big reporting upgrade. Here's what's new, what's changed, and everything you need to know if you're already using Raisely.

Explainer + Demo: Reporting Refreshed

Join us for this short explainer webinar. We'll take you through the new release and show you how you can get the most out of your reports with Raisely campaigns.

What's new?

More data, across multiple campaigns

First up – we've removed the shackles that tied reporting to individual fundraising campaigns. With over half the charities on Raisely running more than one campaign, it was time to open things up.

Reports are now found in your main side navigation. When you build a report, you can export data from a single campaign, multiple campaigns, or across your entire Raisely account.

We've also opened up access to even more data from your Raisely account, previously only accessible via our API. That means more fields, and a whole new data type – exercise logs – to let you download the individual exercise log entries in virtual fitness-based campaigns.

A new, visual report builder

Our new report builder – the biggest change we've made to reporting. Taking everything we learn from our visual page builder, Raisely now comes with a beautiful, visual, drag-and-drop report builder. It's a joy to use, and makes building a report fun (I promise).

Inside our new interface we've packed in some of our most-requested reporting features. That's renaming columns, adding blank columns with arbitrary values, more fields including related data, and a live preview of your report as you build it.

What a list. Plus the usual features like reordering columns and adding a new field are as simple as drag, and drop.

Filter down to the data you need

We've added filtering, and it's just as simple as filtering a report in Excel. Select the column you want to filter on, and then add your condition. Combine multiple filters to refine your report down to exactly what you need, save them and they're applied live every time your report is generated.

Filters can be added to most core and custom fields, and we're adding support for more fields over time.

Scheduled reports, delivered automatically

Build your dream report, and then ask Raisely to deliver it automatically to your email every day, week or month. Scheduled reports are finally here!

Create and schedule as many reports as you like for all of your campaigns. Choose from a single once-off schedule, to recurring schedules from daily right through to yearly.

Scheduled reports can be accessed at any time through the Raisely admin panel, or sent to any admin on your account via email.

Better reconciliation of bank payouts

Reconciling the money that hits your bank account from Stripe is even easier now. Raisely's bank payout reports are more accurate and more flexible. Download a full report for each deposit from Stripe. Inside each we'll include all of the donations you were paid, including refunds or other charges to make sure the number in the report lines up with what you see in the bank.

If our default report isn't what you need, you can now create your own template using the same visual report builder as our standard reports.

That means more control over the columns, column order, and column names in each bank payout report.

The small details that really matter

They were the big changes, but we've also released a whole batch of small changes that'll make a big difference day-to-day. Every single one of these was raised with us from the charities who use Raisely – so thank you, for helping to make Raisely better for everyone. Here they are:

  • Set a timezone for your whole Raisely account, and dates in your report will show in that timezone.
  • Customise the start of your reporting week between Monday and Sunday.
  • Over 10 ready-made report templates to make building your reports easy (plus we're taking suggestions for new ones!)
  • Start a new report by duplicating an old one
  • Search reports by type, campaign, or title
  • More intuitive and flexible date filters when downloading a report
  • Handy descriptions for each field in the report builder (coming soon)

Changes for existing campaigns

Already using Raisely? You're probably wondering what happens to all the reporting you do every day. Here's what you need to know.

Reporting has a new home

As we've added the ability to report across multiple campaigns, reporting now lives at https://admin.raisely.com/reports, or under Reports in your Raisely sidebar.

If you just want to see reports specific to a campaign, you can click Reports in the campaign sidebar. We'll take you to the same place, showing reports filtered by that campaign.

All your old reports are still there

Every custom report you've made is still available, and can now be edited using our new report builder! You'll find them under Reporting and can use the campaign filter up the top to narrow down the list.

Scheduling old reports

If you want to schedule a report that was made using Raisely's old report builder, you will just need to duplicate it first.

Custom organisation reports are still around (for now)

Before this upgrade, we'd set up organisation-wide or very custom reports for you. They were found under Organisation > Reports. If you use custom organisation reports they're still there!

However, with this upgrade we're no longer making new custom reports and many custom reports we've made in the past can be set up in our new editor so they're easy to update and can be scheduled.

Legacy bank payout reports are still around

Our new bank payout reports have new field names and different data, so we know they might not work straight away with any import templates you have set up into other tools.

Our previous bank payout reports are still available under the Legacy Payout Reports heading. Nothing's changed with these, but if you can – move over to the new reports soon. They're much better!

The way reporting should be

When we build new features at Raisely we aim for them to be flexible and transformative. That means that we look beyond intuitive and beautiful, toward functionality that has a lasting impact for the thousands of organisations who rely on Raisely every day.

This upgrade brings the best of that. These are changes that have been informed by hundreds of snippets of feedback from fundraisers like you, over many years. Our team has taken those, and aimed to build reporting tools which address the functionality you need today, while giving you the ability to take your use of data even further than you may have for your next campaign.

Oh and we're by no means done. There's so much more we want to do to synthesise and visualise fundraising data. We'll wait for another upgrade for news on that ;)
